Real men admit weakness.

True manhood≠strength

THE GOD CENTERED HUSBAND

A Weekly Email to Help You Love God and Your Wife
By Doug Hanna

🧠 WISE WORDS

Let the wife make the husband glad to come home and let him make her sorry to see him leave.

Martin Luther

💥 WHAT IS A GOD CENTERED HUSBAND?

A God Centered Husband must be completely dependent on God for strength. True strength is not measured by a man’s own might but his awareness of his weakness and dependence on the God of all grace.

Are you a God Centered Husband? Are you willing to admit to God and others when you need help?

🛠️ ONE QUICK TIP FOR MARRIAGE

How to pray for your wife

  • PRAISE God for her — thank God specifically for his work in her life.

  • PLEAD for her — Ask for specific, urgent needs in her life.

  • PURIFY her — Ask that sin would be exposed and removed from her life (you can’t do these things for her — only God can!).

  • PREPARE yourself for her — Ask God to help you grow as a husband.

📕 ONE VERSE + ONE SENTENCE

“When he entered the house, the blind men approached him, and Jesus said to them, ‘Do you believe that I can do this?’ They said to him, ‘Yes, Lord.’” (Matthew 9:28)

There is no sin or suffering in your life that the Lord Jesus cannot remove. Trust him.

❤️ REMINDER: JESUS LOVES HIS BRIDE

Marriage is a picture of Christ’s relationship and his bride, the church. When we seek to grow as husbands, it can be easy to feel discouraged that we have failed to “love our wives as Christ loved the church” while forgetting that we are the bride whom Christ has loved.

“Who can find a wife of noble character? She is far more precious than jewels.” (Proverbs 31:10)

Christ’s bride is more precious than many jewels, which is why the Son of Man gave everything he had (his own life) to buy you.
