🧠 WISE WORDS

While your character flaws may have created mild problems for other people, they will create major problems for your spouse and your marriage.

đź’Ą WHAT IS A GOD CENTERED HUSBAND?

A God Centered Husband must be passionately pursuing God in private. You cannot lead where you are not going. Quickly confess your sin and seriously devote yourself to Scripture and prayer.

Are you a God Centered Husband? If someone examined your prayer life, would they think you believed God is powerful?

🛠️ ONE QUICK TIP FOR MARRIAGE

How NOT to apologize.

  • Avoid “If” — Admit that your sin is a big deal.

    • Bad: “I’m sorry if I hurt you.”

    • Better: “I’m sorry that I hurt you.”

  • Avoid “You” — Admit that you alone are to blame for your own sin.

    • Bad: “I’m sorry you took it that way.”

    • Better: “I’m sorry I said it that way.”

  • Avoid “But” — Admit that no excuses justify your sin.

    • Bad: “I’m sorry I did that, but you…”

    • Better: “I’m sorry I did that. It was wrong.”

đź“• ONE VERSE + ONE SENTENCE

“Do everything without grumbling and arguing, so that you may be blameless and pure, children of God who are faultless in a crooked and perverted generation, among whom you shine like stars in the world…” (Philippians 2:14–15)

Not complaining is one of the most counter cultural things that you can do. If you, as a man, stop complaining it will radically change the culture of your household.

📚 RESOURCE HIGHLIGHT

Make God the center of your home

A God Centered Husband should desire his kids to know Christ more than almost anything. That’s the reason I created God Centered Family, a series of family devotionals that will give you everything you need to lead your kids to become lifelong followers of Jesus.

Here’s the four things that make these devotionals different from anything else:

  1. Cover the Whole Bible — Teach your kids every verse of Scripture (not just the popular stories)

  2. Interactive — Train kids to read the Bible for themselves (not just sit through it)

  3. Focused on Jesus — We’re saved by God’s grace (not our good works)

  4. Realistic — Only ten minutes each day

Take the guesswork out of discipling your kids — subscribe to God Centered Family today.

❤️ REMINDER: JESUS LOVES HIS BRIDE

Marriage is a picture of Christ’s relationship and his bride, the church. When we seek to grow as husbands, it can be easy to feel discouraged that we have failed to “love our wives as Christ loved the church” while forgetting that we are the bride whom Christ has loved.

“[The Bride of Christ] was given fine linen to wear, bright and pure. For the fine linen represents the righteous acts of the saints.” (Revelation 19:8)

As Jesus’ bride, you will be clothed in white forever, representing your perfect purity — a purity that wasn’t your own, but given to you by Christ.
